Post-Acute Behavioral Health in St. Petersburg, FL
Mental health evaluation and care for our patients in short-term, long-term, assisted living and independent living facilities, connected with their primary care.

Mental Health Care Where Recovery Happens
A move to rehab or long-term care can bring anxiety, low mood, sleep problems and confusion. Our behavioral health team offers evaluation and treatment for anxiety, depression and related concerns, and today this care is available to our patients living in short-term, long-term, assisted living and independent living facilities.
The team is led by Dr. Jason Patel, a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist whose focus includes geriatric psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry for patients admitted to healthcare facilities. Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners Robertha Compere, Elizabeth Herzog and Tana Burke work alongside him and our primary care providers.

How Our Team Supports Residents
Behavioral health is part of the same care plan as the resident's physical health.
Psychiatric evaluation
A careful look at mood, thinking, sleep and behavior, along with medical history. This helps separate mental health concerns from medical causes.
Treatment for anxiety and depression
A plan that may include therapy-based support and medicine, adjusted over time as the resident settles in.
Medication management
Psychiatric medicines are reviewed against everything else the resident takes, to limit side effects and interactions.
Geriatric psychiatry focus
Dr. Patel's training includes geriatric psychiatry, which looks at how mental health concerns show up differently in older adults.
Connected with primary care
Our psychiatry team works with the same physicians and nurse practitioners who handle the resident's medical care, so nothing falls between providers.
